Marisa da Costa holds a degree in veterinary medicine from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1987), a specialization in Microbial Ecology (1992) and a PhD in Microbiology (Doctorat en Ciences de la Vie - Université Claude Bernarde Lyon 1 - 1996). He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He has experience in the field of Microbiology and Veterinary Medicine, with an emphasis on Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of Animals. He teaches General Microbiology, Bacterial Diversity and Parasite-Host Interaction (animal) classes. He advises on the following topics: classical bacteriology of samples of animal and environmental origin.
